Ergonomics starts with a good chair. Back and neck support are the two places where any neglect will cause pains during long work or gaming sessions. I learned that the hard way when going through regular 4 hour stretches of TAB.
The Circle CH70 gaming chair comes with the typical gaming flair- the car seat design, adjustable height and angle, a back support pillow and a neck support pillow. It uses a good amount of memory foam (density grade 30) to ensure there is no permanent deformity. Honestly, I would recommend this chair even at offices if it were up to me. Sigh, it isn’t though.
It comes in three colors – black, red and green and the specifications are available pretty clearly on their website and hence I will concentrate on the experience part.
The chair is delivered in a box, with an instruction booklet on how to assemble it. Yes, it comes in pieces and you will have to assemble it for yourself. However, there are only two sizes of screws involved and the necessary wrench is provided too which makes the whole thing kinda easy. Assembly took me about an hour to complete, with help of extra hands. There is a little bit of lifting involved and thus I suggest not doing it alone.
Where the chair shines is sheer comfort. I do not have any experience with other gaming chairs but this one never felt like I would need any other. Everything advertised was delivered. The pillows are soft and sturdy. They are quite adjustable along the back thanks to elastic belts. The height is quite adjustable thanks to the gas chamber lift process. Oh yeah, if after a few years you fell the height adjust mechanism has degraded, you can always buy a new cylinder and replace the old one with it. No screws involved.
Since nothing is perfect, this chair isn’t too. The width between the armrests is not for my comfort. This chair is designed with people of big shoulder width in mind. Hence, those with smaller shoulders may find it difficult to rest their arms while handling the mouse and keyboard. Of course, depending on the table you use, this can be ignored. If you have those tables where the chair can be accommodated with it, you will easily be able to alleviate this. But when you have to reach out for working on your machine, you find the need to rest a bit every 30 mins or so too.
The chair is slightly on the expensive side which may cause doubt. Wait for a sale or just go for it for a comfortable seating. You wont regret buying it.
